Saving a movie You save a movie by choosing File > Save. The first time you save a movie, the Save Movie As dialog box appears and the movie will be flattened. (The movie must be flattened to be Web-ready.) Subsequently, when you choose File > Save, the movie will not be flattened. To flatten your movie again, you must choose File > Save As to do so. Flattening your movie resolves all track references; that is, all data referenced by a track will be incorporated into the movie (the movie becomes self-contained). For example, if you add a Video track to an existing movie, the track initially only contains a reference to the actual video data (for instance to a video somewhere on your hard disk), not the data itself. When placing this movie on a Web server (or another computer) the video data referenced by the track will not be found. To avoid this, the movie must be flattened (because the data is incorporated into the movie, and the movie file size will increase). Select the folder in which you want to save the movie, typically in your site folder. You can create a folder in your site window (for example Movies), and save your movies to that location. You'll see the movie file appear in the site window once you save the movie. To save an existing movie with a different name: Choose File > Save As. Name the file and choose the destination folder in the Save dialog box. The movie will be flattened. Editing QuickTime Movies > Opening QuickTime movies > Saving a movie |
